Tutorial for Unique Wedding Gift, 1,000 Reasons I Picked You

Hello, Rachelle here with another project from Diamond Rings Are Deadly Things.
Today I have a neat tutorial to share. You'll learn how to create a specialized wedding gift or use this idea for other occasions as well.
Chapter 18- 1,000 Reasons I Picked You

Select flowers of the same variety as those in the bridal bouquet
and separate petals from the stems.
My kids loved helping me get the petals ready for this project. Thanks to my wonderful hubby for the beautiful rose bouquet!
Open journal so that the outside front and back covers lie flat.
Brush a light coat of Mod Podge glue over the entire cover and spine
of a hardbound journal and press petals onto the cover. If I were to do this again, I'd first glue a colored piece of cardstock or paper over the journal because the black wanted to show through the white petals. Of course, if you're using darker colored rose petals, you won't have that problem.
Apply a second coat of Mod Podge and allow to dry.
Once dry, add one more coat of Mod Podge or shellac for a glossy look.
The finished product creates a unique memento for the couple and a beautiful keepsake of this special time.

On the first page of the journal, print “1,000 Reasons I Picked You . . .”

Ask the bride and the groom for three reasons they picked the
other and write those on the first few pages of the journal, as well as
instructions for the couple to continue to remember and write other
reasons in the journal over the first few years of their marriage.
You could use this idea to create similar gifts, such as covering small boxes or a vase with rose petals and using the same method with Mod Podge glue.
